WHAT IS A GOAL?
Goals are a tool that allow us to grow, evolve, and become a better version of ourselves.
Goals give us direction and help us to achieve the vision that we have for our lives. The purpose of your goals should be to enhance and improve your life.
Your ability to achieve your goal is only as good as the time and effort you commit to it. Like your horse, you can’t get into better shape overnight, master a manoeuvre or change a habit. It takes time and consistency.
Goals offer two essential components, that fuel your motivation. First, goals provide the destination of where you want to go with your vision / dreams. The destination is important because if you don’t where you’re going, you’re most likely going to stay stuck where you are. Second, creating a road map or plan on how to actually get to your destination, is paramount to staying on track. Setting goals and living intentionally not only benefits us in our riding, but in our lives in general.
You could say that the whole human endeavor is geared towards setting and achieving goals. Goals are part of every aspect of life: how you conduct your relationships, what you want to achieve at work, the way you use your spare time...
Everything comes down to priorities, and what you would like to accomplish in every aspect – whether you make a conscious choice or go with subconscious preferences.
